Port Isaac Holiday Cottages in a Traditional Cornish Fishing Village Brimming with Charm

A truly idyllic haven, Port Isaac is one of the most appealing fishing villages on the north coast of Cornwall. The quaint working harbour has a daily fish market where you can buy fresh lobster and crab and is a wonderful place to observe the daily activities. The narrow alleyways (the most famous being “Squeezy Belly Alley”, said to be the narrowest street in the world!) and pretty traditional fisherman’s cottages add further to the charm of exploring this delightful village, and our accommodation offers the best in Port Isaac holiday cottages.

Holidays in Port Isaac are always popular with families. Although small there is always something to see and do and, with the Southwest Coast Path running through it and so many great beaches nearby, it will always be a favourite for Cornwall holidays.

It's not hard to see why this delightful fishing village is so popular with holidaymakers. Located on Cornwall's North coast, Port Isaac is a truly picturesque village set amidst rugged and magnificent scenery and is ideally located for trips to nearby stunning beaches, water sport activities, idyllic Cornish villages and popular tourist attractions.

Port Isaac has been a bustling fishing village since the early fourteenth century. Today, it is steeped in history with its narrow, winding streets lined with old white-washed cottages that head down to the pretty harbour, where you can still watch the local fishermen landing their daily catch. Recently famous as 'Port Wenn' in the television series "Doc Martin". With the weekly performances of the best selling choral group "Fisherman's Friends", an array of local gallaries, arts and craft shops, there is plenty to see and do all year round.

Nearby Port Quin, largely owned by the National Trust, is situated just a couple of miles and a lovely walk along the Coastal Path from Port Isaac. Local legend talks of the loss of the entire male population of Port Quin following a fishing disaster which left the village deserted. Today, it is a peaceful cove and hamlet offering classic Cornish scenery and great walking, a must see when visiting Port Isaac.

Port Isaac offers the perfect base for exploring the surrounding area of North Cornwall. Enjoy the dramatic coastline, bask on the many glorious nearby beaches and discover fabulous walking with excellent access to the Coast Path in both directions.

Natural Retreats has a great selection of traditional, self-catering holiday cottages in Port Isaac. Most offer spectacular sea views and are within walking distance of the harbour.
