Canalside Cottages
Loch Lochy

Admire the appropriately named; Loch Lochy

Although winning no prizes for creativity when it comes to its name, this stunning 10-mile freshwater loch cannot be missed. Thickly, forested mountains encase the loch on both sides, making it a great spot for a picture-perfect moment.

Similar to its famous cousin ‘Loch Ness’, Loch Lochy is surrounded by various whisperings of folklore which suggest it is the home to its own supernatural monster – the ‘River Horse’. A beast said to capsize boats and lure mares from their pastures.

Loch Lochy is situated on the A82 route to Loch Ness and Inverness and we whole-heartedly recommend a stop to take in the unique scenery and warm hospitality from the local businesses.
